Spring is making calendars fill up. The first holiday of the season begs for something homemade from the kitchen, but who has time? Braided Bread takes advantage of the modern convenience of frozen bread loafs, then adds its own holiday flair.

Braided Bread with colored eggs

This bread recipe is simple and easy to do. If you can defrost and turn on a oven, you can make this bread.

1 to 2 loaves of frozen white bread dough

4 colored hard-boiled eggs

Thaw bread and cut in half lengthwise. To make two loaves of Braided Bread, cut each loaf into three equal strips.

Follow directions on package to let dough strands rise. After rising, braid into two loaves, tucking the ends under to hold loaves together.

Place loaves on baking sheet that has been sprayed with non-stick spray. Place colored eggs between the braids. Brush tops of loaves with an egg wash of a slightly beaten eggs with 1 tablespoon water. Bake according to package directions.
