The Broadway United Methodist Women will bring Judy Gardner with fashions from The Silk Purse for a Fashion Show and Luncheon on Saturday, Sept. 6. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. in the W. A. Allen Fellowship Hall. Mary’s Angels Memory Walk Team will be hosting a huge garage sale on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 3242 Heather Glenn Drive in Maryville, off Big Springs Road. Sale hours will be 8 a.m. to Nnoon. Rain date is Saturday, Sept. 6. Mary, age 12, and her brother David, age 9, are “On The Move” to end Alzheimer’s. Items in the sale will include kitchen table and chairs, desks, chairs, toys, books, clothing, CD movies, household items, costume jewelry, and much more. They will also have Alzheimer’s bracelets and pins. Purchases will be made by donation only, nothing will be priced. All donations will go to the East Tennessee Alzheimer’s Association to be used here in East Tennessee. Please come out and support these young children in their fight against Alzheimer’s.

Maryville’s Weight Loss Surgery support group -- meets at 10 a.m., the second Saturday of each month, at Pellissippi State College Library in Maryville. The purpose of this group is for those who are considering gastric surgery, Bypass or Band, for weight loss. Questions and answers from people who have gone through the procedure. The Joshua Resource Center -- is enrolling participants for the New Beginnings CWJC program. Women who may feel isolated, alone and without hope will find a safe place to refocus, be trained in a variety of life skills, work skills and experience the love of Christ.
