CBBC opens 411-South branch in Blount

CBBC bank employees, board members and the community gathered recently to celebrate the grand opening week of CBBC’s branch at 411 South, near the Maryville Wal-Mart.

Organized in September of 1973, CBBC is an independently owned and locally-headquartered bank. There are eight locations in Blount County, three in Knox County and one in Monroe County. The Deposit Operations and Loan Processing division is located on East Broadway in Maryville.

CBBC is proud of its locally owned and headquartered heritage in Blount County, said Joe Bruce, president and CEO of CBBC. All members of the Board of Directors live in Blount County. Four of the current board members began with the inception of the Bank -- John W. Clabough, Joe Downey, Ben Robertson and Joe Bruce. Coming on the board shortly thereafter was Leon Shields in 1976, with John G. Proffitt and James M. Warren joining the board in 1989. Gaynell Lawson, Bob Carroll, and Al Grubb were added to the Board in August of 2007 rounding out the group at 10.

Founded by local business leaders, the Bank’s original team of seven associates has grown to over 90.
