Scouts invade Carolina for week at Raven Knob
Raven Knob Scout Reservation benefited from a visit from some of East Tennessee’s best boys in early July when 40 scouts from Blount County took their Boy Scouting skills to a beautiful camp near Mt. Airy, N.C.
Raven Knob offers a full range of scouting experiences, including camping, hiking, shooting, fishing, caving and a host of aquatic activities. There was the opportunity to work on merit badges as well as just enjoy the camaraderie of new friends and friends from home.
The 40 scouts from Troop 87 hail from Maryville, Alcoa and Blount County schools. Scoutmaster is Mark Smith, and the Charter Organization for the troop is Broadway United Methodist Church.
