The board of directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati (FHLBank) has named Alvin Nance, president and CEO of Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation (KCDC), to its 2008 Advisory Council.
The 15-member council provides guidance to the board and staff on housing needs and programs that will enhance the FHLBank’s affordable housing and economic development programs in its Fifth District territory of Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. Nance was one of five appointees named to three-year terms effective Jan. 1, 2008.
“I am excited and honored to serve on the FHLBank Advisory Council,” said Nance. “My seven years with KCDC and my 20 plus years in the banking industry where I worked closely with the FHLBank hopefully will allow me to make a significant contribution to affordable housing programs.”
A former commercial banker, Nance has served with many business, civic and service organizations, including membership on the boards of the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, United Way of Greater Knoxville, First Tennessee Bank, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Fannie Mae Advisory Board, Boy Scouts of America, Habitat for Humanity, Maryville College and the YMCA. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Maryville College.
