John Jagger will serve as the City of Maryville’s development services director.
Jagger’s responsibilities will include planning and implementing economic development programs and services, assisting existing and potential businesses and industries, and management of the Planning and Codes area of the City.
Jagger comes to Maryville from the City of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee where he served as Community Development Director for 13 years. In total, Jagger has more than 30 years of planning, zoning, and development experience, some of which were at the City of Maryville and Blount County government. During his employment at the City of Maryville from 1976 to 1984, he served as City Planner and was promoted to Assistant Director of Community Development and then to Director of Community Development. Jagger also worked as the Planning Director for Blount County government for 5 ½ years before accepting the position at Pigeon Forge.
