Volunteers clean up Blount County

Get ready for spring and join the Blount County Great American Clean-up on Saturday, April 19. Last year 400 Blount County volunteers collected more than 5,000 pounds of trash from roadways, creeks and parks. Keep Blount Beautiful is asking for everyone to help make Blount County as beautiful as it can be and keep the tradition going with an even bigger crowd.

Check-in is from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Thompson Brown House located at 1004 East Lamar Alexander Parkway. All volunteers will receive a free T-shirt, clean-up materials and a free dinner coupon for the evening festivities. Clean-up will end by 2 p.m.

Keep Blount Beautiful is partnering with the Little River Watershed Association and the Blount County Chamber of Commerce to host the evening event at Maryville College from 5 to 8 p.m. Volunteers receive free dinner coupons for the event, music, educational booths, giveaways and more. All residents are invited to join in the festivities.
