David Pesterfield has been appointed to a three-year term on Blount Memorial Hospital’s board of directors. Hospital administrator Joseph Dawson announced the appointment during a recent hospital board meeting. Pesterfield serves on the Blount Memorial board as a representative of the City of Maryville.
Pesterfield is employed as the chief financial officer of Braden’s Wholesale Furniture Company, a position he has held since 1994. A Maryville High School graduate, Pesterfield received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens. He also completed the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business Executive Management program.
The Blount Memorial Hospital board of directors is comprised of nine members for three-year renewable terms. Four directors are confirmed the Blount County Commission, two by the City of Maryville, two by the City of Alcoa and one by the Board of Trustees of Maryville College.
In addition to Pesterfield, the Blount Memorial Hospital board of directors includes Robert P. Redwine, president, Jim Fiegle, Dr. Ted Flickinger, Francis Gross, Ed.D., Robin Haynes, Susan Keller and Clarence Williams.
