Get your bicycle ready to ride at a bicycle course on Saturday, April 19.
Local bicycle shops’ mechanics will perform basic bicycle safety checks to make sure your ride is safe and ready for the season. Minor adjustments are free and additional service can be arranged as required. They will also show the rider how to deal with typical roadside repairs (flat tires, broken spokes, etc.).
This event is designed for all ages and to meet the needs of the full spectrum of bicycle riders in the community.
The course, Bicycle Basics, Safety and Maintenance, will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19, in the grassy area in front of the parking garage adjacent to the Tomato Head restaurant in Maryville.
Participating bicycle shops include Cycology Bicycles (865-681-4183) and Mountain View Bicycles (865-977-4200). Sponsors are The Tomato Head and the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation www.jeffrothcyclingfoundation.org.
To sign-up, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and type in “I want to ride” in the subject line. Include in the email how many people and bicycles you will bring.
There is no charge for the event.
