Double play

Twins delivering for Lady Governors

They’re as different as the positions they play.

William Blount High School senior Leah Kelley is a high-energy shortstop with a powerful throwing arm. The Cleveland State signee is hitting a sizzling .474 at the plate this season. Twin sister Megan is the swift left fielder whose laid-back demeanor masks a keen mind for the game, along with a sure glove really quick set of cleats. She’s been charged with only one fielding error on the year. Together, they’d helped the Lady Governors to a 9-4 overall record, 6-3 in District 4AAA, entering Wednesday’s game at rival Heritage.

Their personalities match the way they play, William Blount coach Abbie Mitchell said.

“They’re just so different. It’s like night and day,” she said. “I don’t how people can’t tell them apart.”

Megan and Leah have graciously consented to take part in a rare “Blount Today Sports Chat Room.”

Without further delay, we give you Leah and Megan Kelley:
