Kevin Proffitt, CFP has been appointed managing director of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Knoxville.
Proffitt is an 18-year veteran with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He joined the Knoxville office in 1989, and opened a satellite office in Maryville in 2004. Proffitt holds the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He has been recognized by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors with the National Quality Award, and he is a qualifying member of the prestigious Million Dollar Roundtable. Proffitt is president of the Financial Planning Association/East Tennessee Chapter and past president and board member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals, Knoxville Chapter.
Proffitt received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Middle Tennessee State University. An active member of the Knoxville and Maryville communities, he serves on the board of directors for the Boy Scouts of America Great Smoky Mountain Council, New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center and the Boys and Girls Club. He is past president of the Maryville Kiwanis and past board member of the Blount County Chamber of Commerce. He also plays a leadership role in his church, serving on the Foundation Board for the Holston Conference of the Methodist Church.
Proffitt and his wife Kimberly live in Maryville with their children, Kevin and Kelsey.
In addition to managing the day-to-day activities of the Knoxville district office, Proffitt will recruit and train financial representatives. He will also continue to work with his clients to provide expert guidance and innovative solutions for a variety of financial needs and goals.
