Local scout to interview WWII vets

Boy Scout Troop 87 member Ian Murphy is continuing work on an Eagle Scout Service project that is designed to honor Blount County World War II veterans. Currently, 15 veterans have told their stories in interviews that were videotaped and will be preserved on DVD. The completed DVD compilation will be donated to the Blount County Library and American Legion Post 13 in order to historically preserve the contributions these veterans made during World War II.

Additional 30-minute interviews are being scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at Fort Craig School and Saturday, May 17 at William Blount High School. Veterans interested in participating should call Ian Murphy at 865-984-5988 to schedule an interview.
