Chilhowee Club puts ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’

On Friday, May 9, the fun begins at 6 p.m. at the Royal Oaks Event Center. Music and fundraising are the order of the night, with a cash bar and cocktail hour on the center’s terrace, followed by a gourmet dinner and an evening of musical entertainment by Amanda Ingram and Robert Ergenbright.

Ingram is a Maryville native who has sung nationally and abroad and has a mezzo-soprano voice. She has sung with the Chicago Opera Theater, the Sarasota Opera and the Orchestra di Guiseppe Verdi in Milan, Italy.

Ergenbright is a base baritone and has performed under the baton of Leonard Bernstein at the opening of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and with opera companies is St. Paul, Boston, Ithaca and Knoxville.

The gala evening is to raise money for Trinity Dental Clinic, a clinic for indigent folks who can’t afford dental care. In addition to the entertainment, two chefs will cook for the evening and there will be live Celtic music during dinner.

Tickets are $60 per person and can be purchased from any Chilhowee Club and club members. Call Diane at 856-3626 or Ellie at 982-4263 or by email at
