Everyone who is pulling out their bicycles and hitting the trails or bike paths should make plans to attend a spring bike tune-up on April 19.
The event will be on the top floor of the Maryville Municipal parking garage. Tomato Head restaurant and the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation will sponsor it. The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m., foundation supporter Keith Webb said.
“We’ll have mechanics from Cycology and Mountainview Bicycles to perform safety checkups to ensure your bike is ready for the season. Minor adjustments are free. Additional services can be arranged for a fee depending on the work required,” Webb said. “In addition, emergency roadside repair will be taught.”
Such skills as changing tires, repairing flats and repairing broken spokes also are taught. “These are skills that will get you home in case of a minor type of issue,” Webb said.
