The Blount County Historical Museum needs to borrow some old-timey treasures for their next exhibit.
The exhibit will include old family quilts, knitted items, lace, crochet work, tatting, bonnets, aprons, toys, clothing, baby items, christening gowns, nightgowns, scarves, shawls-any sort of hand-made treasure that might be found in a trunk, cedar chest, or treasure box of any sort. Items don’t necessarily have to be old, just wonderful items are appreciated also.
The exhibit will start July 12, two weeks after the “Civil War Comes to Blount County” exhibit ends on June 28. For more information call the museum at 865-454-4256. The museum will display any history that is known about the items that are loaned, and credit the person or persons with the work and art of their hands.
