Foothills Fall Festival entertainment brings crowds

Entertainment at the Foothills Fall Festival is special not just because of the big-name acts that come to town, but also because of the local talent that takes the stage.

On the first night of the festival on Oct. 12, Dixie Werewolves of Maryville opened for classic rockers REO Speedwagon. The Werewolves played for almost 90 minutes before relinquishing the stage to the headliners.

The Werewolves wasn’t the only local group. Bands and acts such as Mark Wagner and Kristi Matthews also entertained the audiences. The headliner acts proved themselves each night, and the crowds responded.

The lineup for the eighth annual festival proved so popular that the entertainment tickets sold out early. Sara Evans, Kellie Pickler, Bucky Covington, Cherryholmes, Trent Tomlinson and Cowboy Troy were greeted enthusiastically. Little Texas got a great response and popular duo Big and Rich performed until late into the night.
