ETJS presents Karl Seger Memorial Jazz Concert

The East Tennessee Jazz Society, Inc. is presenting the Karl Seger Memorial Jazz Concert. The concert will feature internationally acclaimed clarinetist and saxophonist Ken Peplowski. Joining him are UT jazz faculty member Mark Boling on guitar, Rusty Holloway on bass with Keith Brown on drums, plus pianist Dr. Bill Swann from the Maryville College music faculty.

The concert will be Sunday Oct. 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church located at 2931 Kingston Pike in Knoxville.

Admission for ETJS members is $5, and $20 for non members. Students with IDs are $2. Wine will be available for those 21 or older and cheese, cider and donuts are included.

Dr. Karl Alfred Seger III was an original member of the East Tennessee Jazz Society and it’s board of directors. He received his Ph.D. in organizational psychology from UT. He was an author, instructor and consultant in the area of security, as well as federal, state and local law enforcement and intelligence. He was an avid saxophone player and led the Knoxville Jazz Project. The ETJS is celebrating its 10th anniversary this September.
