It all came across as pure as milk and honey. The melodic voice of RobinElla surrounded and enveloped the graceful movements of the Appalachian Ballet dancers in such a way that the audience agreed the marriage was meant to be.
For their season-opening performance, Blue Jeans and Ballet, the Appalachian Ballet Company senior dancers performed on the grass at Maryville College while RobinElla sang her songs in the background.
Amy Moore Morton, artistic director and head of the Appalachian Ballet Company, choreographed the dances to RobinElla’s songs. The dancers performed barefooted and in blue jeans. RobinElla’s smooth voice carried along the night air until the audience was carried away with the experience. Even the singer was taken with the fit, remarking after the performance that perhaps the dancers should all go on tour with her.
