The annual Maple Lane Farm Corn Maze has been helping folks get lost for weeks now, but with the temperatures cooling and the “haunting” getting closer, the maze and all the activities that surround Bob Schmidt’s agri-tourism in Greenback is just hitting fall peak.
The theme of the ninth annual Maple Lane Farm Corn Maze is “RC Cola and a MoonPie - It’s a Southern Thang.”
Beginning on Oct. 18 through Halloween, the maze is “haunted.” Special events include music by Jessee Williams on Saturday, Oct. 13, and by Shannon Mock (7 p.m.) and Sellers-Wray (8 p.m.) on Oct. 20. The Chillbillies entertained Sept. 29.
Tickets for the maze through Oct. 17 are $6 for children, ages 6 to 11, and $8 for everyone age 12 and older. Tickets for the haunted maze, Oct. 18-31, are $8 for children, ages 6 to 11, and $10 for everyone age 12 and older.
Helicopter rides are available for $20 per person. There are hayrides every Saturday and Sunday for $2. They end 1 hour before dark.
The maze is open Wednesdays through Fridays, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m; Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Sundays, noon to 6 p.m., except during fall break (Oct. 10-12) when the hours are 3 to 10 p.m.
Haunted Maze hours begin Oct. 18. The Haunted Maze is open Mondays through Thursdays, dusk to 10 p.m., Fridays, dusk until 11 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturdays. Sundays hours are noon until 10 p.m.
Guests are provided a “corn compass” and flashlights or glowsticks are strongly recommended.
Maple Lane Farm is located in Greenback just off Morganton Road eight miles from Foothills Mall. For more information, visit www.thecornmaze.net.
