Penny Whaley has been elected president for the East Tennessee Registers Association for 2007-2008.
The Registers Association meets once or twice a year to stay abreast of all laws and upcoming laws relating to recording documents in the Register of Deeds office.
Whaley was hired in October 1988 as deputy clerk in the Register of Deeds office and was elected Register of Deeds in 2002 and 2006.
