Vocalists join MC Jazz Band in unique concert

The Maryville College Jazz Band and small vocal ensemble Off Kilter will combine their talents for a unique concert of Christmas and Scottish music on Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of St. Andrews Episcopal Church located at 314 W. Broadway in Maryville. The concert is free and open to the public.

While each ensemble will perform separately, they will combine for three selections: “We Three Kings,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Yule Be Swinging.”

The concert will feature soloist Emily Emadian, who is a vocalist with both Jazz Band and Off Kilter. A music theory-composition major at Maryville College, Emadian also arranges music for both groups.

For more information, contact Bill Swann, associate professor of music and director of the jazz band, at 865-981-8159 or bill.swann@maryvillecollege.edu.
