Holiday photo shoot at Hastings to benefit ARFNets

Professional photography services will be available for the entire family, including the family pet, on Dec. 1 from noon to 4 p.m. at Hastings in Maryville. Blount County photographer Valerie Foley is offering her photography services with proceeds benefiting ARFNets, the Animal Rescue and Fostering Networks.

“We moved here from Arizona a year and a half ago and the animal overpopulation was not nearly as big of a problem there. It felt as if there was complete community involvement/awareness with the Arizona humane society and other agencies and their efforts. They even had weekly TV shows showcasing animals up for adoption. When we got here we were saddened that there were so many animals in need of homes; that animals went out for adoption without being spayed or neutered, and how short of a time they were given before being put down. I’m very excited to be involved in helping our animal community,” said Foley.

A professional sitting with V.F. Digital Photography includes two or three poses, one free 5x7 and a goody bag from Smokey Mountain Feed. The fee is $15. All poses will be made available for purchase online after the event and attendees will be asked to select the free 5x7 online by December 7. A sign-up sheet for specific sitting times is available at Hastings and walk-ins are welcome.
