Brandon Warren’s year in football purgatory is over.
The former Alcoa High School star said he was notified by the NCAA on Friday that the association had granted his appeal to be released from a letter of intent he signed with Florida State. Warren, who withdrew from Florida State this spring, was denied a release by the Seminoles.
A freshman All-American tight end at Florida State, Warren said his plans now are to finish the current semester at Pellissippi State and enroll the University of Tennessee in January. With his eligibility restored, the former Tornado said he hopes to play for the Vols this fall.
