Animals were all over Springbrook Park recently and the folks at Blount C.A.R.E. couldn't have been happier.
The sixth annual Paws in the Park, held on Oct. 21, brought animals lovers and their pets to the park in Alcoa for a fun-filled day with family and friends. Paws in the Park gives pet owners the opportunity to learn about different resources in the community and to enjoy different demonstrations and games. All proceeds go toward the Blount County Animal Rescue Effort. The organization educates children in Blount County to make them more aware of animal-related issues, provides temporary housing for as many animals as possible and links them with rescue groups or people wanting to adopt. The organization also promotes the need for spaying and neutering pets by working with groups that provide that service.
