To say the evening of Oct. 30 was an eventful night at the former Royal Oaks club house would be an understatement.
Partners Steve and Joyce Greene and Rebecca Pottorff debuted the Royal Oaks restaurant and banquet facility to a capacity crowd.
“The food was great, and it was well attended. Our numbers were anywhere from 800 to 1,000 people came through.”
The party was scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m.
“We had a band, and we kept the band until 11 p.m. because people didn’t want to leave. We just kept bringing food out. It was a success to show people what we’ve done. I was excited about the turnout.”
Pottorff is general manager. “She did a fantastic job and all the staff, it was a phenomenal success,” Greene said.
Greene praised James Prine and Bernadette Doyle for their work in renovating the ballroom and for creating the new restaurant.
“We were rushing around an hour or two before because we changed out all the doors. We were taking ladders down and blowing sawdust an hour before people came,” he said.
Greene said his goal for the party was simple. “We wanted people see how exquisite it was. We’ve had several bookings for Christmas parties and receptions and corporate meetings as a result of that open house,” he said. “A lot of people called back and booked the facility for events.”
