It was good to be geeky on Halloween. The Sales department of Personal Computer Systems, 1720 Topside Rd., got decked out in their geekiest costumes and put on the mantle of the nerds to participate in the company’s Halloween contest.
For their efforts, they each walked away with a voucher good for an extra day off, to be taken at their pleasure within the next year.
Owners Ed and Carol Waldroop, who were also decked out in Halloween attire, had such a hard time deciding which of the participating departments should win the coveted prize that they called on Blount Today to help judge. Between the swashbuckling pirates, the “tantalizing” Hawaiian punchers, the creative movie characters and the off-beat killers, the Geek Patrol had plenty of competition.
PCS has 65 employees, and an overwhelming majority were able to join in the Halloween fun, even if some did have to put aside their costumes several times during the day to get their work done! The Waldroops set refreshments up in the kitchen, including a cake shaped like a witch’s hat, made by one of their employees.
