October 22 marked a grand opening celebration for the first locally organized bank in Blount County for more than 30 years.
“This is truly a special time. It’s more than a grand opening,” said Melissa Hodges, senior vice president of Foothills Bank and Trust. “It’s a celebration and the realization of a special dream.”
The dream was J.N. “Nick” McGuire’s, a long-time president of The Home Bank. Shortly after the institution merged with BB&T, McGuire envisioned a new venture, a bank built on the friendships of the local community. The dream was realized and Foothills Bank & Trust was born in June 2007. Later that month, McGuire passed away.
Foothills Bank and Trust is located in Foothills Mall at 137 Foothills Mall Drive in Maryville, Tennessee.
