The board of directors of Foothills Bank and Trust announce Mark W. Loudermilk was elected by the board as the bank’s president and chief executive officer. Loudermilk replaces J. N. “Nick” McGuire, one of Foothills Bank and Trust’s original organizers, who passed away in June.

Loudermilk formerly served as chief operating and financial officer. He has more than 25 years of banking experience in both finance and operations from his prior tenure at The Bank/First Citizens Bank and its holding company in Cleveland, Tennessee, as well as the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. Loudermilk was an organizer of Foothills Bank and Trust and serves as a member of its board of directors. He graduated from Covenant College, the Tennessee School of Banking and the Graduate School of Banking of the South. He completed the coursework required to be credentialed to sit for the CPA examination. Loudermilk has also been active with the south east chapter of the American Institute of Banking and has served as an adjunct member of the faculty of Cleveland State Community College.

“The board is very pleased that we did not have to look further than our own management team to find the best possible replacement for our good friend and mentor, Nick McGuire,” said Dr. Samuel D. Evans, chairman of the board. “Mark brings with him not only the skills needed to be an effective leader for our bank, but an honest commitment to his fiduciary duty as a member of this board to enhance shareholder value, serve the community and the institution’s customers, and provide thoughtful leadership to our employees.”
