Getting ready for the Wizard

SKIT students have busy spring

Southern Kids in Theatre (SKIT) has had a busy spring. The non-profit professional children’s theater, led by Larry and Debra Londsale put on a massive spring performance with beautiful costumes and lots of hard work. The Broadway and show tunes featured their performers of all ages, some belting out songs bigger than they were!

As soon as the weekend of shows was over, there was more work -- albeit fun work -- to turn their attention to, as the group planned their last spring show, "The Wizard of Oz." The Wizard and his (actually, a her, this time) takes the stage to try to get Dorothy and company to embrace their indivuality in order to get the party moving toward home. The production -- complete with a live, barking Toto -- will be presented at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 2 at the Pellissippi Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 10 and under. They will be available at the door.
