Doing the drill: Employers see what happens on drill weekends

Employers of the National Guards’ men and women got the chance to see the inner workings of the McGhee Tyson Air National Guard base recently during Business and Industry Days at the base.

The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center at the base hosted the event on April 25 and 26. Business and Industry Days are designed to acquaint employers, educators, community leaders and civic leaders with the national defense missions performed by the Air National Guard.

"This was for the employers’ support of the Guard and Reserve," 2nd Lt. Jaime Oakley said. "This is to show employers what their employees do on their two days off per month and two weeks off per year so they have a taste of what we
do."

Guests learned of the employer support programs available to them and of the education and training benefits available to their students or employees through Air National Guard membership.
