Maryville seniors gather for reception

Maryville High School seniors, parents and grandparents were invited to an Aubrey’s dinner and MHS movie Friday, May 11, as a tribute to the class of 2007. Randy Burleson, owner of Aubrey’s family of restaurants, partnered with MHS Adopt-a-School sponsor Blount Today to host the reception.

All five of the Aubrey’s restaurants worked to provide a boxed supper with a turkey club sandwich, chips and chocolate bar cake for the 336 graduating seniors, their parents and grandparents at the school cafeteria.

While half the group enjoyed dinner, the others watched a senior movie which captured highlights of the students’ year. Then the two groups switched places.

To begin the evening, Dr. Ken Jarnigan welcomed the group, as did Maryville Director of Schools Mike Dalton and school board chair Carolyn McAmis.

Coordinating the event with the two sponsors were Mary Driskill and Ashley Webb Porter.
