The early March sunshine helped, but it wasnt the weather that had thoughts turning to the calendars sixth month. It was the bevy of brides-to-be who filled the center for the Marry Me! Bridal Showcase.
Some brought moms with them; some brought fiancées; some brought friends and future mothers-in-law. All brought excitement and heads full of questions.
The showcase, put on through a partnership between the Flower Shop
and the Life Event Center, boasted more than 20
vendors, featuring everything from flowers to rings to food to dance
lessons. There was a bridal fashion show from Brittneys Bridal
Boutique, a horse-drawn carriage to ride in, wedding cake to sample,
bouquets -- both fresh floral, preserved floral and delicious candy --
to see. There were rings and tents and dance lessons. Admission was
free, and the atmosphere was festive.
Perhaps the most surprising transformation was the venue itself. The
Life Event Center, even filled with vendors, strutted
its stuff as the place for weddings, boasting a dance floor, elegant
reception area and showcasing the kitchen.
Outside, "The Green" was decorated for both a ceremony and a reception, with elegant chair covers, table decorations and tenting.
Sherrie Shuler, the director for the Flower Shop and the event
center, coordinated the event, which she hopes will become
an annual showcase.
