BB&T has day for saying 'Thanks'

BB&T banks across the country celebrated their communities recently by concentrating on each of their individual towns and cities. The BB&T team in Blount County held Celebrating the Community Day on Feb. 15 at all of their branches and the Blount County administrative office. Refreshments and give-aways were at each location, encouraging customers and community members to stop by and visit.

Mike Baker, head of BB&T Blount County operations, said the celebration this year was even more exciting and important because of the 2006 merger of BB&T and the former Home Bank of Tennessee. With the expansion in Blount from five to seven offices and to 10 ATMs, the network is now one of the largest in the county, Baker said.
