Dandy Lions, a new gift shop on Church Avenue, was the scene of an open house for friends and family to show off the restored Harper Building.
Co-owners Joy Carter and Kristin Wilson hosted the event and greeted guests and their children and grandchildren throughout the Friday evening affair.
Carver said the evening and the stores first Saturday in business could not have gone better.
"It was perfect, absolutely perfect," Carver said. "On Friday, everyone was so excited, and it was fun to see it all come together. Then on Saturday, business was steady, steady, steady. It was wonderful."
Carver said guests to Dandy Lions will be "wowed" by the architecture and history of the building. "Theyre going to notice it is restored and really find a little bit of everything," she said. "Theres something for themselves, for their homes, their friends. Weve not seen many people walk out without loving a little bit of everything. Thats been fun."
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It
is located at 300 E. Church Ave. and can be reached
by phone at 977-LION (5466) or on the web at dandylionsgifts.com.
