Medic has three Blount drives planned

The gift of life is the best gift of all. No need to wrap it, it’s free and it’s always the right size. Donating blood is the easiest shopping around and it plays and active and important role in the health and well-being of your community. The blood donated to MEDIC Regional Blood Center stays in the greater East Tennessee area to supply our area hospitals. And, MEDIC, 1601 Ailor Avenue will be open on Christmas Eve from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Here are other locations to look for while you are out finishing up your holiday shopping:

n Monday, Dec. 17, Bloodmobile at Walgreen’s in Maryville at 220 Foothills Drive from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 20, at East Tennessee Medical Group, 266 Joule Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., inside the Community Room.

Friday, Dec. 21, at Blount Memorial Hospital, 907 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy. from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., inside the Auditorium.

MEDIC will not collect blood on Christmas Day so that our employees can spend time with loved ones.

All donors must be 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more and have positive identification.
