Blount County Theater Group -- is looking for actors and actresses of all ages and types in the Blount County area who are interested in forming a new theatrical group to help provide high quality entertainment in the Blount County area. Beginning in January 2008, the group will meet on a regular basis to explore various acting techniques through games, exercises, improvisation and light scene work. They will also develop a list of possible productions for the future with a goal of eventually performing full productions of plays. Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center -- is taking tax deductible donations of a minimum of $10 for Ball of Hope Holiday Ornaments. All are one-of-a-kind ornaments, painted by volunteers of the center to support their efforts to help the victims of child abuse. Blount County Business Hugs For Soldiers organization --is collecting packages for the Christmas for a Soldier campaign. Anyone interested in helping our soldiers can make a package using a gallon-size Ziplock bag lined with Christmas paper and filled with goodies and a card.
