Cranberry Salad

1/2 lb. fresh cranberries

1 cup sugar

1 box cherry Jell-O

1 cup hot water

1 diced orange

1/2 cup nuts (Gladys prefers pecans)

1 small can crushed pineapple

1 grated orange peel

1 diced apple with the peel

1 1/2 stalks celery chopped to about 1/2 cup

Wash cranberries, add sugar and cook until they pop open. They will make their own liquid. Dissolve Jell-O in hot water and put in refrigerator to cool. When Jell-O starts to thicken, add the apples, oranges, drained pineapple, celery, orange peel and nuts. Fold in the cranberries and their juice. Combine all ingredients. Pour mixture into a mold and chill for several hours.
