Maryville artists to participate at Artsclamation!

The fifth annual Artsclamation! fine art show and sale will be held from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4, at Sacred Heart Cathedral School, 711 Northshore Drive in Knoxville. Blount County artists Catherine Coulter and Pat Delashmit, and Sevier county artist Stephanie Brichetto, will participate.

A self-taught artist, Brichetto’s paintings are largely concerned with organic subjects: flowers in extreme close-up perspective. While much of her work is defined and realistic, at times her art is stripped of detail and approaches abstraction.

Coulter has studied oil painting with locally and nationally acclaimed instructors. Her paintings are included in many private and corporate collections in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.

A weaver for the past 20 years, Delashmit has worked as a studio artist for 12 years. She regularly participates in the Foothills Crafts Guild show and teaches at Arrowmont School.

In addition to Brichetto’s, Coulter’s and Delashmit’s work, Artsclamation! will showcase original works by more than 30 noted regional and local artists and will feature a variety of media, including oil, watercolor, pastels, acrylics and photography as well as an exclusive grouping of three-dimensional artists displaying jewelry, pottery and fiber art. The art sale is open to the public, admission is free, and free parking is available on-site.

Several students from Peninsula’s Recovery Education Center art classes will also have art for sale. The Recovery Education Center works with mental health patients in a variety of artistic media to aid the emotional healing process through creative expression.

Major sponsors for Artsclamation! 2006 include AstraZeneca, BellSouth, Covenant Health Credit Union, the Knoxville News Sentinel, Charter Communications and Lamar Advertising.
