William Blounts Governors control their playoff destiny entering
the regular seasons final week. A win over rival Heritage
clinches the fourth spot in Region 2-5A. A loss coupled with an Oak
Ridge win at Farragut would secure the fourth spot for the Wildcats. An
Oak Ridge loss would send the Governors through to postseason
regardless of the outcome of the contest with the Mountaineers. Region
2-5As fourth seed will travel to 1-5A champion Dobyns Bennett for
the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs.

Top-ranked Maryville, which concludes the regular season at Lenoir City on Friday, will host either Brainerd or Hixson in a Class 4A playoff opener. Brainerd concludes the regular season at Chattanooga Central. Hixson visits Region 4-4A champion Red Bank.

The Region 2-2A champion Tornadoes host No. 7-ranked Booker T. Washington in the regular season finale on Thursday. Second-ranked Alcoa will host Happy Valley, Chuckey-Doak or Cumberland Gap in a Class 2A playoff opener. Chuckey-Doak concludes the regular season at Happy Valley. If Chuckey-Doak wins, Happy Valley becomes Region 1-2As fourth seed and travels to Alcoa. If Happy Valley wins, Chuckey-Doak becomes the fourth seed, providing Cumberland Gap loses at winless West Greene on Friday. A Cumberland Gap win and a Chuckey-Doak loss would give the fourth seed to Cumberland Gap, which defeated Chuckey-Doak earlier this season.
