Highlanders offer support for veterans with ride

Members of the Highlanders Motorcycle Club Inc., Smoky Mountains Tennessee chapter, joined with the American Legion Riders in early July to offer support for area veterans.

The ride was sponsored by American Legion Riders Post 13 in Maryville. U.S. Congressman Jimmy Duncan came in support of the veterans and to wish the riders well. All the Highlanders who participated are veterans and are members of the American Legion.

Pictured, with Congressman Duncan, are Milo, Jethro, Garvin, Horse, Hoot and Weasel. Roy L. "Hoot" Shields is president of the Highlanders Motorcycle Club.
