Christopher, 1460 Hillvale Rd., chose building a sign for the Red Cross for his Eagle Scout project. He coordinated and built a new sign for the chapter house on Church Avenue that now proudly marks the headquarters.
Now, however, the Blount County Red Cross has moved to a new location. Christophers sign will end up serving two masters. The brick part of the sign will stay at the old Blount County Library/Red Cross building for the new owners to use. The wooden part of the sign that proclaims American Red Cross will move to the new location at Triangle Park just off Robert C. Jackson Drive.
The project was the Leadership Service part of the Eagle requirement
for Christopher. Not only did he have to coordinate the volunteers to
help build the sign, he was responsible for getting donations - both
in-kind and monetary - to pay for the
project.
Christopher dropped by Blount Today with a sincere desire to thank those who had helped him make this last part of his Eagle journey possible. There is still some reporting and paperwork to do, but Christopher says he believes the Eagle designation will soon be something he can wear with pride.
With his sincere attitude and above reproach manners, Christopher
asked, "If I could just thank all those who helped, that would be such
a great thing - not just for this project, but for the guys who will be
doing other Eagle projects to come."
So, from Christopher, and Blount Today - Thank you to the following who
helped Christopher gets his Eagle and the Red Cross get a brand new
sign.
