SKITmas promises classic fun and a touch of Christmas

Blount County’s newest theater group for children will make its debut performance Dec. 8-9 at the Palace Theater.
Southern Kids In Theatre (SKIT), a theatre group for 48 children ages 5 to 17, will perform "SKITmas at the Palace, a Broadway Christmas Revue" at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at the theater. SKIT was started and is directed by Debbie Lonsdale.

"SKITmas at the Palace" features a variety of skits and songs from feature films such as ‘Gone with the Wind’ and ‘Steel Magnolias,’ and from Broadway musicals such as "Annie," "Les Miserable," "Chicago," "Sound of Music," "Phantom of the Opera" and Disney classics such as "Mulan," "Cinderella," "Beauty and the Beast," "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Lion King."
Also included will be a selection of Christmas favorites like "The Grinch," "Frosty the Snowman" and "Polar Express."

Tickets for the performances are $10, $12 at the door. To purchase tickets, contact Debbie or Larry Londale at 865-380-4387. Tickets may also be purchased at Blount Today Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
