Sarah Anderson Parrish, owner/director of Kindermusik by Sarah Parrish attended the 2006 annual Kindermusik Convention titled "Simply the Best" on November 2-5, in Greensboro, NC. One of the biggest highlights was meeting the guest speaker Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra since its formation in 1979 and co-author of the book, "The Art of Possibility". Parrish said, "Mr. Zander is an amazing speaker, but an even greater musician. His enthusiasm and approach to music helped remind me that music does transform people’s lives and that my role as an educator and musician is so important."

Another highlight for Mrs. Parrish was meeting with Kindermusik International Chairman and CEO, Michael Dougherty. Dougherty has been with Kindermusik International since 1996 and under his leadership, Kindermusik has grown at a 30% compound annual growth rate. Kindermusik now has more than 6,000 educators in 66 countries.

Parrish is a graduate from William Blount High School and earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Carson-Newman College. She is also a former choral director for the Blount County School System and is now in her fifth year of teaching Kindermusik. She said that "Music has always been my passion. When my husband and I were planning to start a family, I began looking for music programs in the area for young children and had no success. I was actually introduced to Kindermusik while I was in college serving at FBC Bossier City, LA. I knew Kindermusik was the program I wanted my children to be in so I started my own Kindermusik business."

Sarah is a licensed Kindermusik educator, but also has gone above that training and is a Board Certified Educator.
