Adventuress Catering puts ‘home’ back in ‘home cooking’ with
focus on fresh, healthy, delicious

Advertorial by Jodi Cartier

Scenario 1: You come home after another long, hard day at work. You have poured yourself into your job and want nothing more than to relax and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal - something healthy but mouthwatering too. The problem is that if you want that meal, you are going to have to cook it yourself. More than likely, mouthwatering is going to lose to the convenience of delivered pizza.

Scenario 2: After a long productive career, you have retired and are ready for the good life! Your days are still full, but with fun, family and friendship now on your dance card instead of work. You want to eat healthy so you can make the most of this exciting time of life, and even more important, you want to ENJOY your meals! The problem is that for years, you have been the family cook and frankly, you are pretty much over it!

Scenario 3: Time is of the essence in your life. You have a family you want - need - to spend more time with but in order to do so, something’s gotta give. Between planning meals, shopping for meals, preparing meals and cleaning up afterwards, you are sacrificing hours each week for this one chore. The problem is that if you don’t do it, who will?

Three problems, one solution:

Adventuress Catering
a Personal Chef Service

Now before you say you can’t afford a private chef, understand that there is a difference between a private chef and a Personal Chef. A private chef often lives in your home, works exclusively for you, and prepares all of your meals. Few of us can afford that.

But a Personal Chef is different. Yes, Adventuress Catering can prepare all of your meals, though most clients are interested primarily in dinner preparation. Yes, they will prepare your meals to order, considering your preferences and tastes. And yes, they will do the meal planning, the shopping and food preparation and even the cleanup in your own home.

The difference is that Laurie Byrne comes to your home and prepares several meals at once for your family, leaving them for you to heat and eat as you want and need them. Some clients want Laurie to come weekly and do several meals.

Others may choose a bi-weekly or occassional plan. You have only to heat them up, then eat them up!

Laurie is the owner of Adventuress Catering, a Personal Chef Service. She explains that while personal chef services are relatively new to our area, they are already commonplace in many parts of the country. Setting up shop in the untried waters of Blount, Knox and Loudon counties did not intimidate Laurie in the least.

Having spent most of her life here, Laurie knows the area and the people well and is convinced that once folks in this area become familiar with the benefits of using a Personal Chef, they will wonder how they ever got along without one.

You may well wonder too, once you see the reasonable pricing schedule and consider the precious time you will save each week. And best of all, Laurie’s love of cooking and knowledge and appreciation of food comes through in every bite, in every meal.

People tend to ask professional chefs like Laurie if they have a specialty and in her case, the answer is no. Laurie’s culinary talents and abilities are too broad and encompass too many areas to have a single-specialty dish. Laurie’s specialty is her cooking style, summed up in three simple words - fresh, healthy and tasty. No matter what the dish, these three words are applicable to everything prepared by Adventuress Catering.

Fresh means getting up at dawn and visiting local farmers’ markets - and in some cases, local farms - to get the freshest straight-from-the-earth vegetables possible. It means using fresh meats and cheeses and fruits, fresh herbs, fresh - well, fresh everything! The difference when using fresh ingredients as opposed to ones that have been shipped in from who-knows-where is in the taste. And ultimately, taste is everything.

Trained at the prestigious Culinary School of the Rockies in Boulder, Laurie has also spent time studying the culinary arts in the south of France and under the guidance of some of the top chefs in the country. She is a member of the American Personal Chef Association. Laurie encourages you to go to her web site where you will find everything from menu suggestions and pricing schedules to details on her training and her personal cooking philosophies.

Adventuress Catering is also available for special occasion catering for up to 30 people. Laurie is already booking for the holidays, so you are encouraged to call and secure services early since a limited number of appointments can be taken. Gift certificates are available as well, and cooking classes can be arranged for children as well as adults.

Just imagine your life freed from the time constraints imposed by the planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning involved in meal preparation. Imagine sitting down to eat with your family in the comfort of your own home, not worn out from cooking, and knowing the meal you are about to enjoy will be savory AND healthy.

Imagine the money you will save when your "family dinner" no longer ends up with either a fat bill at a nice restaurant or a fatty fast-food pick-up.

Now stop daydreaming, and phone Adventuress Catering. You can reach Laurie personally at 865-983-0066. The web
