The Maryville High School Red Rebel Band competed in the Upper Cumberland Marching Band Festival on Sept. 30 at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville. The band received a Superior Rating and was awarded Best Overall Band. In addition, the percussion section received a 1st place award and the drum majors won a 3rd place trophy.

Tab and Kristi Burkhalter now have Oct. 20 as a red-letter day in their
lives. At 12:58 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, they became the proud parents
of their first child. Abigail Kathlyn Burkhalter made her debut at 8
pounds, 5 ounces at Blount Memorial Hospital.
The Burkhalters will call their daughter Abbie.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ted Burkhalter and Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, all of Nashville.

Kelsey Marshall was crowned the 2006 Maryville Bears Homecoming Queen
on Monday, Oct 2.
She is the daughter of Melissa Dorsey and Jimmy Marshall. She is the granddaughter of Roy and Vivian Marshall and Thelma Patterson. She is also the granddaughter of Archie and Mary Crawford.
