Christmas Memories was held at the Townsend center on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1-3. The Cardwell and Montvale Station cabins
were decorated for the holidays with turn-of-the-century decorations
and holiday lore.
Participants were served hot spiced cider that had been brewed over an
open hearth and cookies.
The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center celebrates the cultural
heritage of East Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains region with
exhibits, educational programs, demonstrations and activities designed
to take visitors "on a textured, historic journey through the diverse
cultures of Townsend and the surrounding area."
