After high school, Stefan spent eight years in the Navy, returning home to attend the University of Tennessee. In Knoxville, he spent four years with The Daily Beacon, the Tennessee student newspaper, where served as sports editor and news editor. <P>Beginning as a correspondent in 1992, Stefan spent 15 years with The Daily Times before joining the Blount Today staff. An avid cyclist, he has not owned an automobile since 1985, carrying out his Blount Today duties exclusively by bicycle. Woefully misguided, his favorite sports team is the New York Yankees.
