Before making donations to ANY group, please check their status as a for-profit or non-profit organization. Only a word of warning to the wise. Also, if all is well, consider a direct donation instead of through a fundraiser. The group can therefore get 100% of your benefit as opposed to 50%. Stop and (don't) smell the flowers.
